Community Arts

The Community Arts Program’s mission is to transform our neighborhood of Hunting Park by providing avenues of expression for the abundant creativity existing within our neighbors. We know that artistic expression plays an important role in the development of individuals and communities. The transformative power of art helps to strengthen struggling communities and decrease poverty rates. Creating together deepens the relationships needed to support each other in our journey towards wholeness.

Community Arts develops relationships on three levels:

  • Youth (ages 10-18): Our Youth Art Courses offered in the fall and spring provide art training and mentor relationships for the youth in our community
  • Adults: Monthly Adult Art Workshops provide art exposure and creative skill building for adults as well as provide some “time away” to do creative work together as neighbors.
  • Community: Art projects designed, created, and installed with our neighbors of all ages beautify our neighborhood and give us a sense of accomplishment as we do good work together.

Community Arts is now located at the ORANGE KORNER ARTS (OKA) HOUSE located next door to Ayuda.
