Support Our Students(S.O.S)
S.O.S. is an after school program for students in grades 1st to
7th. The S.O.S program aims to provide role models, mentors, safety,
recreation, and relaxation during the critical hours after school
when at-risk behavior is more prone to occur. Other services that
are provided in tandem include before school care, field trips,
academic assistance, enrichment activities, advocacy, and the fostering
of communication between teachers, parents, and the community.
Summer Day Camp
Ayuda provides a six week summer camp in the city for children ages
4 to 11. As a result of this program we have seen the social, academic,
physical, emotional, and spiritual growth of the community children
under our care. This has been achieved by providing activities in
the following areas: reading and writing, arts and crafts, recreation,
and spiritual development. Weekly field trips are also planned to
provide exposure to different life experiences.
Agape Ministry
Ayuda staff are available to meet with community members to assist
with a variety of issues providing resources and referrals to clients.
Advocacy Case Work
We often become aware of other needs that participants and their
families in our programs may have. We have acted as advocates in
a number of settings including: the court system, the penal system,
educational institution, housing and utility offices, and the welfare
system.
Legal Clinic
In partnership with the Philadelphia Christian Legal Aid Society,
attorneys provide free one hour consultations on legal matters to
residents of the community.
College Access Program(CAP)
Mentors in this program offer academic and emotional support to
Latino and African American high school youth and encourage them
to attend college or vocational training. Latino and African American
students ages 14 to 18 will benefit from this program.
